Georgia hopes its partner countries in the UN will convince Russia not to isolate Abkhazia and South Ossetia from international monitoring, Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister David Jalaganiya said at a briefing.

Jalaganiya said an UN annual report to be released Feb. 2 includes all issues under debate.

The report may also include recommendations for the UN observation mission in Georgia.

Georgia is continuing consultations with international partners at the UN.

The UN Security Council plans to review Georgian issues on Feb. 9.

Jalaganiya said Georgia is interested in international monitoring in occupied territories in the country and the presence of international missions in Georgia.
