Iran is a true superpower, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejat said.
"Thirty years of intimidation tactics by the international community did not impact the Iranian nation," Ahmadinejat said during a speech before nation to honor the 30th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.
The president said resolutions and economic sanctions did not prevent Iran from achieving its aims, the IRINN TV channel reported.
"The world recognized that we are true superpower," Ahmadinejat said.
No one can deny Iran's scientific achievements, he said.
Iran recently produced and launched a satellite and two rockets into orbit. The first rocket carried the second rocket and satellite. At a predetermined height, the first rocket propelled the second, which placed the satellite into orbit at a speed of 7,000 meters per second.
"Iran produced these rockets with a peaceful aim," Ahmadinejat said.
The world powers lost to Iran, he added.
"[U.S. President] Barack Obama intends to negotiate with Iran. The U.S. must change its policy and we will support these changes if they are strategic," he said.
