On May 14, 2006 observers from Sweden, Latvia and Germany held a press-conference devoted to the results of voting. On May 13 about 15 foreign observers were observing the parliamentary election process in various electoral districts, reports Trend.

The Deputy of Estonian Parliament, Arnold Kimber said that, each time the foreign observers notice a tendency of progress in the election process. There is a significant enlivening in comparison with the last time. He informed that they observed in 17 electoral points. There is a difference between elections conducted in Azerbaijan and that in other countries. В"For example, in Belarus you may observe the police, medical services and firemen in all electoral points. In Azerbaijan, the police is at least at 100 meter distance from the electoral point, said A. Kimber.

Varner Munch (Germany), a former deputy of European Parliament told that he participated as an observer in several points of Electoral District No 9. He met with Chairman of the Electoral District and got acquainted with voting papers. He also met with other observers and those conducting exit-polls and did not face with negative occasions in electoral points. Neither did he hear about any problems from other observers, said V. Munch. Meantime, the observer noted that, the voters were not enough active and this problem exists in all west-European countries. During these elections we noted enough achievements. We consider that Azerbaijan is on the right way. After repeated parliament elections we came to a conclusion that Azerbaijan is on the path of democracy said V. Munch.

Sproj Sneidze, a member of Latvian Central Election Committee, said she was satisfied with the process of election. She also noted that, she had not met with any serious violations during the process and the elections had passed normally.
