The Danish architects Bjarke Ingels Group have designed the masterplan for a carbon-neutral resort and residential development on Zira Island in the Caspian Sea.
Located within the bay of Azerbaijan's capital city Baku, the 1,000,000 square metre masterplan will include seven residential developments, which the architect claim are based on the shapes of famous mountains in Azerbaijan, AVROSİTİ Vice Prtesident Oguz Erkan told Trend on Feb. 2. The complex will be designed of mountain tops of Azerbaijan that will interflow with relief of the peninsula, Oguz said. The complex's arhitecture will reflect national traditions. 300 villas, golf clubs, beach complex and etc. The energy in the complex will be generated due to sun rays, wind and water.
The complex's general plan will be demonstrated at the exhibition in Danish architectural centre on Feb. 21.
The cost of the project has not been declared. It's cost is evaluated several billion dollars.
