Some 2.617.815 square meters of Azerbaijani territory was cleared of mines and unexploded ammunition in August, the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) told Trend.
As a result of operations 681 unexploded ammunition and 7 antitank mines and 6 antipersonnel mine were found and neutralized.
Some 480 experts participated and 120 assistants, as well as the six mechanical demining machines and 32 mine-detection dogs participated in the operations.
So far the agency cleared 169.646.894 square meters of land, found and neutralized 663,147 mines and unexploded ammunition.
ANAMA operates in Agdam, Agjabadi, Barda, Goygol, Tartar, Yevlakh and Fuzuli regions, as well as Guzdek settelement in the Garadag district of Baku.
In August, no case of mine/unexploded ammunition was fixed.
