Turkmen Commerce-Industry Chamber, Turkish Foreign Economy Committee ink cooperation agreement

Turkmen Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Turkish Foreign Economic Relations Committee signed an agreement on cooperation at a business forum in Ashgabat.

A business forum was attended by representatives from the private sector of the economy of Turkmenistan and Turkey. Prospects for cooperation related to the fuel and energy complex, construction, textiles, tourism, agriculture, trade and catering industry. Two countries are engaged in dozens of major joint projects, including construction of industrial and socio-cultural.

The sides stressed the importance of diversification of trade and economic cooperation. The most promising area is recognized tourism taking into account implemented a major project to establish a National Tourist Avaza zone on the east coast of the Caspian Sea. The principle of most favored nation is active and has been declared as a free economic zone.

"Turkmenistan avoided the negative effects of global financial and economic crisis, made a promising Turkmen market more attractive to investors owing to preventive measures.
