Azerbaijan Insurers' Association (AIA) has adopted a strategy for the next two years, AIA head Azer Aliyev said today.
"According to the strategic plan, the AIA will mainly focus on improving the educational level of insurers and promotion of insurance throughout the country," Aliyev said.
According to him, at the initial stage the Association intends to carry out activities in cooperation with the Finance Ministry and later the insurers will be involved.
"Azerbaijan Insurers' Association will seriously work on improving the legislative framework, and jointly with the insurers - on the development of new products, by studying the international experience," Aliyev said.
Azerbaijan has 27 insurance and one reinsurance company. All companies are members of the AIA. Association membership fee is 5,000 manat. Azerbaijan Insurers' Association was established in December 2006.
