Tbilisi City Council decided to raise the rate for garbage disposal by 36 votes in favor.
A family will pay 2.5 lari (about $1.8) per person instead of 1.20 lari from the new year for garbage disposal.
According to representatives of the majority, the new rate is more corresponds to reality. The opposition opposed the decision.
The new rate comes into force from Jan.1.
