Export of Turkish goods to Azerbaijan increases

Exports of Turkish goods to Azerbaijan hit $631.3 million in the first quarter of 2013 or 9.7 per cent more compared to the same period of 2012, a report from the Turkish Council of Exporters published on its official website, said today.

Turkish goods worth $227 million were exported to Azerbaijan in March compared to $221 million in March 2012.

Azerbaijan's share in Turkish export hit 1.7 per cent.

The range of goods exported by Turkey to Azerbaijan (including the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic), consist of wood products (worth $20million), cement ($9.1 million), precious stones and jewellery ($5 million), ferrous metals ($18 million), non-ferrous metals ($2.4 million), leather ($1.5 million), other products ($197,000), electricity ($21.9 million), carpets ($1.5 million), chemical products ($33.9 million), machinery ($17.8 million) and textiles ($1.3 million).

The main trading partners are Germany, where Turkey exported goods worth $3.2 billion in the first quarter of 2013, Iraq - $2.6 billion and Great Britain - $1.9 billion.

The goods were exported to the amount of $1.1 billion, $931 million and $647 million to these countries in March respectively.
