Uzbekistan introduces single order of customs inspection

Uzbekistan is reducing the number of customs inspections, since the State Customs Committee is implementing the procedure of a single customs inspection of imported and exported goods.

In accordance with the presidential decree "On Measures for Further Liberalization of Foreign Trade Activity and Support to Business Entities," a number of conveniences are created for participants of foreign trade operations when conducting export-import transactions.

Particularly, from Dec. 1, 2017, when the goods are exported under the export customs regime, a period of 120 calendar days is set, after which overdue accounts receivable are formed. so far the period was 60 days, and only for individual enterprises - 90 days.

The subjects of entrepreneurship are given the authority to export goods (except for special goods), works and services without concluding an export contract, on the basis of invoices. The requirement to issue permits by the state customs authorities for re-export of goods under the temporary import customs regime has also been canceled.

Furthermore, under the presidential decree "On additional measures to support domestic exporters of fruits and vegetables, grapes, melons, melons, and dried vegetables and fruits," the right is granted to export fruits and vegetables without signing an export contract on the basis of an invoice, subject to certain conditions.

Under the president's decree "On measures to further ensure food security of the country," 8 types of goods were exempted from custom duties until January 1, 2019. These include live cattle, sheep and goats, fresh and chilled meat of cattle, fresh and chilled meat of lamb or goat (except frozen), soybeans, sunflower seeds and sesame, cane or sugar beet.
