Uzbekistan sees rise in volume of market services

The volume of market services in Uzbekistan amounted to 10.17 trillion soums in January 2018, showing an increase of 10.5 percent compared to the same period in 2017, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said in a message.

The turnover of retail trade in Uzbekistan increased by 0.8 percent compared to the same period last year up to about 8.36 trillion soums.

The share of turnover of large enterprises was 13.3 percent. The increase in demand for consumer goods such as tobacco products, gasoline and alcoholic beverages led to an increase in the growth rate for large enterprises by 19.6 percent compared to the previous year.

Retail turnover, including turnover of food enterprises, per capita decreased by 0.9 percent, and amounted to 258,100 soums. In January 2017, the figure was 211,800 soums.

The retail turnover of food enterprises amounted to 178 billion soums or increased by 5.5 percent. The share of turnover of food enterprises in the total turnover of retail trade amounted to 2.1 percent.

Retail trade turnover of small business decreased by 1.6 percent compared to the same period last year.

The share of sales in the total turnover of retail trade was 86.7 percent.

Out of the total volume of small business' turnover, the sale of goods in unorganized trade amounted to 948.2 billion soums. The share of this sector in the total volume of trade amounted to 11.3 percent.

In January 2018, the volume of wholesale trade amounted to 2.99 trillion soums, which is 2.5 percent lower compared to the same period in 2017.

The turnover of small enterprises and microfirms increased by 3.2 percent and reached 2.19 trillion soums. The share of sales in the total turnover of wholesale trade was 73.6 percent.
