Kazakhstan’s Akmola reveals value of gross agricultural production

Gross agricultural production in Kazakhstan’s Akmola region stood at 14.8 billion tenges as of 2018, said the region’s governor Temirzhan Yedigenov.

The volume of meat production in the region was 3,500 tons, while chicken egg and milk production stood at 17,700 tons and 58 million, respectively, KazInform quoted him as saying during a briefing, Trend reports.

Yedigenov went on to add that it is planned to increase livestock production in Akkol district of Akmola region.

“It is planned to increase livestock production by creating cooperatives and feedlots in the district,” said the governor.

Further, Yedigenov noted that 1,769 small business entities have been registered in Akmola and the number of people engaged in this sphere has increased to 6,901 year-on-year.

“Nine entrepreneurship facilities have been opened in the region, while six more facilities are under construction. The volume of retail turnover amounted to 7.9 billion tenges,” he said.

When coming to infrastructure, the governor noted that it is planned to continue the ongoing repair of highways in Akkol city.

Akmola region is a centrally located region of Kazakhstan. Akmola Region borders North Kazakhstan Region in the north, Pavlodar Region in the east, Karagandy Region in the south, and Kostanay Region in the west. Some gold and coal mining occur in the area.
