New manufacturing plants to be launched in Uzbekistan

Five projects aimed at increase of localization level and import substitution will be launched in Uzbekistan, Trend reports with reference to press office of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

The projects oversee launch of new plants on the territory of former Tashkent agricultural machinery plant and provision of impetus to the development of agricultural mechanical engineering.

The construction of the five plants including foundry plant worth $42 million is planned to increase localization and import substitution. The foundry plant will be built on the territory of three hectares of abandoned premises of Tashkent plant. It will be annually manufacturing 47,000 tons of metal products, which meet international requirements.

Another four plants worth $24 million will be involved in manufacturing transmission shafts, wheeled disks, cabins and fasteners. As a result of these projects, the localization of the industry will be increased to 60 percent, the cost of the manufactured product will be decreased by 32 percent, and import of the goods - by $116 million a year.

New plants will supply spare parts to Uzagrotechsanoat holding and to manufacturers which are a part of Uzavtosanoat company. The launch of the plants is planned for the next year.
