TEHRAN, Iran, April 27
Trend:
Iranian businesses' losses should be compensated by tax exemption while there is a possibility of opening the enterprises at high risk, if they implement health precautions, said representative of the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade in Iran's guilds.
Ebrahim Dorosti has discussed the possible resumption of businesses after coronavirus in an interview with Trend.
"The businesses resumed work on April 11 and all the guilds in the country were opened except those operating in Tehran Province due to high risk," Dorosti added.
"Thus, beauty salons, barbershops, restaurants, cafes and gyms can resume their activities after implementing health protocols," he said. "There are about 810 public bathhouses in the country, and they can also open following health care protocol."
"Even some restaurants can open, although they need to maintain social distancing; for example, there shall be only five people in 200-meter area," the official added.
"Public transportation including subway, bus stations and airports should open, personal health precautions should be implemented and protocols should be followed," Dorosti said. "We have monitored the market, and all the shops in crowded regions have created rules to prevent large gathering of customers."
"The guilds lost their chance to have big income from February 20 til now, while many businesses have better sale in the last month of the year before the Nowruz holiday," he added. "The businesses lost the new year market and faced heavy losses. We believe they shall be exempt from taxes and municipality charges to compensate the losses."
"The issue concerning the high risk businesses situation will be considered this week by the National Headquarters of Fighting Coronavirus" he said.
"We believe that these businesses shall open if they follow health protocols," he added.
