Georgia reveals volume of exported hazelnuts

Some 12,664 tons of hazelnuts worth $ 65.7 million were exported from Georgia from August 1 to December 13, 2020, Trend reports via the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture.

The volume of exports of hazelnuts for the reporting period increased by 3,500 tons (38 percent) compared to the same period in 2019, and the value of exports increased by $19.7 million (43 percent).

According to the agency, Georgian hazelnuts were mainly exported to EU markets, namely to Germany (3,641 tons), Italy (2,830 tons), Czech Republic (616 tons), Lithuania (355 tons), Poland (354 tons), Spain (352 tons), Bulgaria (322 tons), France (240 tons), Latvia (106 tons), Greece (97 tons), Estonia (88 tons), Luxembourg (84 tons), Slovakia (74 tons), Belgium (44 tons), Austria (22 tons) and Croatia (10 tons).

Georgian hazelnuts were also exported to countries such as Russia (540 tons), Turkey (530 tons), Belarus (362 tons), Ukraine (212 tons), Brazil (186 tons), Algeria (185 tons), Canada (146 tons), Saudi Arabia (95 tons), Mexico (67 tons), Uzbekistan (58 tons), Syria (50 tons), Switzerland (47 tons), Jordan (38 tons), Great Britain (35 tons), Iraq (24 tons), US (19 tons) and others.
