Agricultural production value in Azerbaijan up from early 2021

The value of agricultural production in Azerbaijan in actual prices made up 341.9 million manat ($201.1 million) in January 2021, which is 2.3 percent more than in the same month of 2020, Trend reports referring to the published report of the Azerbaijani State Statistical Committee.

According to the data, the production in the livestock sector grew by 2.1 percent (up to 325.5 million manat that’s $191.4 million) while in the field of crop production - by 6.8 percent (up to 16.4 million manat that’s $9.6 million) in the reporting month.

In 2020, the value of agricultural production in the country in actual prices exceeded 8.4 billion manat ($4.9 billion), which is by two percent more than in 2019.

Meanwhile, the production in the livestock sector increased by 3.1 percent (up to 4.4 billion manat that’s $2.6 billion) while in the field of crop production - by 0.8 percent (up to 4.02 billion manat that’s $2.4 billion).

Azerbaijan's GDP amounted to 72.4 billion manat ($42.6 billion) in 2020, which is 4.3 percent less than in 2019. The value-added in the non-oil and gas sector of the economy decreased by 2.6 percent in 2020.
