Exports of agricultural commodities increased by 20 percent from Georgia from January through February 2021, while agro imports decreased by 13 percent, Trend reports via the ISET-PI, a think-tank based at the International School of Economics of Tbilisi State University.
"From January through February 2021, Georgia's total exports amounted to $495 million that was 7 percent less than in the same period of 2020 ($531 million)," the report said.
However, in 2021 agro exports increased by 20 percent to $134 million ($112 million in 2020)
The country's total imports fell by 13 percent, from $1.349 million to $1.15 million.
The same trend was observed in agro imports, which decreased by 13 percent from January through February 2021 from $165 million to $143 million.
