Azerbaijan's non-oil exports increased by $429 million or 37.1 percent from January through August 2021, compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports citing the monthly ‘Export Review’ of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communications of Azerbaijan.
According to the committee, this figure increased from $1.2 billion to $1.6 billion.
“In the first 8 months of 2021, the share of fruit and vegetable products in non-oil exports amounted to $364.7 million. In the same period, a 1.5-fold increase was recorded in exports of ferrous metals and their products, cotton yarn - 3.1 times, sugar - 2.2 times, chemical products - 68 percent, cotton fiber - 88.5 percent, aluminum, and its products - by 45 percent,” the center said.
The leaders in the list of exported products of the non-oil sector for the reporting period were raw cotton ($143.8 million), gold ($140.1 million), tomatoes ($128.2 million).
The largest importers of Azerbaijani non-oil products in this period were: Russia - $522.3 million, Turkey - $407.3 million, Switzerland - $154.9 million, Georgia - $109.5 million, and the US - $48 million.
