BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 21. In total, about 3.2 million tons of goods and 500 various passenger cars worth 335 trillion rials (about $7.97 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME), during the last Iranian week (May 13 through May 18, 2023), Trend reports citing the IME’s official website.
The sales have increased by 25.9 percent in value compared to the preceding Iranian week (May 6 through May 11, 2023).
Meanwhile, about 2.96 million tons of goods and 100 various passenger cars worth 266 trillion rials (about $6.33 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME)in the preceding Iranian week.
According to the report, 2.62 million tons of goods and the mentioned number of cars worth over 237 trillion rials (about $5.65 billion) were sold in IME's industrial and mining products section last week.
The main products sold in this section included cement, iron ore, steel, sponge iron, aluminum, copper, lead, molybdenum concentrate and etc.
Furthermore, 443,000 tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth 87 trillion rials (about $2.07 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of IME last Iranian week.
The main products sold in this section were bitumen, vacuum bottom, polymers, chemicals, lube cut, base oil, petroleum products, sulfur, etc.
At the same time, 102,000 tons of various products worth 11.4 trillion rials (about $272 million) were sold in the submarket section of the exchange.
