BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 4. The activity of 32 industrial enterprises was resumed in Iran’s Lorestan Province, which is located in the western part of the country, from March 21, 2022, to October 23, 2023, said Bahman Jafari, chairman of the Industry, Mine, and Trade Organization of Lorestan Province, Trend reports.
The chairman noted that about 10.8 trillion rials (about $256 million) have been spent in this regard.
He added that 948 people were provided with jobs by the reopening of industrial enterprises.
Jafari also said that these industries were mostly closed due to debt, conflicts between partners, a lack of working capital, banking issues, and so on.
According to him, these enterprises produce steel, door-window profiles, marble stone, dairy products, and others.
“Moreover, loans worth 8 trillion rials (about $190 million) were given to industrial enterprises in Lorestan Province in the previous Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023). The loaned enterprises are currently under construction. In general, 30 percent of the construction work in these enterprises has been finished,” the official also stated.
There are 1,300 industrial enterprises in Lorestan Province, Iran. Some 10 percent of them are large-sized enterprises, and the rest are small and medium-sized enterprises.
