Audi may reveal Q7 V12 TDI in Detroit

(autoinsidenews) - Audi may reveal a revised version of the Q7 V12 TDI at the Detroit Auto Show. First revealed at the Paris Motor Show in September, the new Q7 V12 TDI features several minor interior and exterior visual tweaks. But it the heart of the diesel Q7 that gets our hearts pumping, a twin-turbo 6.0L V12 inspired by the V12 diesel in Audi Le Mans winning R10 sportscar. The V12 diesel produces 500 horsepower and 738 ft-lbs. of torque, enough for the Q7 to hit 62 mph in 5.5 seconds, with a limited top speed of 155 mph, reports Trend.

Up front, the new Q7 features revised lower air intakes and more LEDs around the headlamps. Out back, there is an LED center brake light, revised taillamps, relocated reverse lights (LEDs in the bumper), and a revised faux-diffuser with oval exhaust tips. The interior features plenty of cream colored leather, and new instrument panel with a 220 mph speedo.

There is no official word from Audi yet. If Audi intends to bring the Q7 V12 TDI to the States, an unveiling at the Detroit Auto Show is as good a place as any.
