OPEC forecasts an increase in world oil demand from 84.5 million barrels per day in 2009 to 89.9 million bpd in 2014 in the medium term.
According to OPEC, world oil demand will be 85.5 million bpd in 2010, 86.6 million bpd 2011, 87.6 million bpd 2012 and 88.8 million bpd 2013.
Of the total world oil demand in 2014, 45.3 million bpd will fall to OECD countries and 39.6 million bpd to developing countries.
China is projected to consume 10.5 million bpd in 2014.
In 2015, OPEC expects world oil demand to reach 91 million bpd, 96.2 million bpd in 2020 and 100.9 million bpd in 2025.
The volume of world oil supply will rise in the medium term from 84.2 million bpd in 2009 to 90.1 million bpd in 2014. In 2010, world oil supply will hit 86 million bpd. In 2011, the figure will reach 86.8 million, then rising to 87.8 million bpd in 2012 and 89 million bpd in 2013.
OPEC raised its oil supply forecasts by non-OPEC countries from 51.1 million bpd in 2009 to the 53.3 million bpd in 2014. OPEC forecasts the oil deliveries of these countries at 51.9 million bpd in 2010, 52.2 million in 2011, 52.6 million in 2012 and 52.9 million in 2013.
In 2030, world oil supplies are projected to increase to 105.7 million bpd, of which 57.5 million bpd will fall to countries outside the cartel.
