Gasification of the remote areas with low density areas under the program of gasification of Azerbaijani regions is not available, Head of the Production Union Azerigas of SOCAR Akbar Hajiyev said. Under the program, the gasification level will be 90 percent by late 2012.
He said the gasification of remote areas with very low-density is impractical from an economic point of view. That is why the new program involves gasification of only 90 percent of the subscribers of the country.
Hajiyev said the remaining ten percent will be provided with energy from alternative and renewable energy sources, in particular the energy of water and wind.
The PU provides at own expense gasification of subscribers only those objects that are provided under the Plan Gasification. Gas provision of small groups of customers living in areas not covered by the gasification plan is carried out at the expense of subscribers themselves. Only gas meters will be provided free to these subscribers, Hajiyev said.
Following 2010, PU Azerigas gasified 51 villages and 73,682 subscribers.
