After commissioning the Beyneu-Bozoy-Shimkent main gas pipeline, seven regions in the district of Kyzylorda district will be connected to the gas supply, the JSC KazTransGas Aimak (KTGA) press service told Trend.

"After the launch of the Beyneu-Bozoy-Shimkent by JSC KazTransGas Aimak, seven regions in the district of Kyzylorda will become connected to the gas supply.

"Already the question of allocation of the land for the construction of the gas areas and infrastructure is being decided," the press service said.

According to JSC, connecting the city of Kyzylorda to the Beyneu-Bozoy-Shimkent main gas pipeline will be carried out in two stages.

"For this purpose in the first stage there will be a jumper with a output of 60,000 cubic meters per hour for Kyzylorda in the peak winter period and secondly with a reducing unit at the Beyneu-Bozoy-Shimkent gas pipeline junction with the Akshabulak-Kyzylorda gas pipeline," press service noted.

Today Kyzylorda's regional centre and the region suffer from a lack of gas supply and in the winter period consumption of thermal energy generating enterprises and in part the city's population is limited.

Thermal energy generating enterprises are forced to use black oil as fuel. The deficit constitutes around 210 million cubic meters of gas annually with the prospect of growth connected to the increased needs of the city.

"This means the problem of deficit will be solved bby connecting cities to the resources of the Beyneu-Bozoy-Shimkent main gas pipeline with a power supply of 10 billion cubic meters of gas annually. The commissioning of the first line is planned for 2013," the company clarified.

Connection of a tap to the Beyneu-Bozoy-Shimkent gas pipeline at the crossing of Kyzylorda-Kumkol highway with the new border of Kyzylorda will take place. This variant will provide an additional gas supply in the current year.

JSC KazTransGas Aimak (KTGA) is the largest gas distributing company in Kazakhstan.
