Azneft, a production unit of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR, extracted 3.66 million tons of oil in January-July 2016, Azneft told Trend Aug. 12.
Azneft also produced 3.3 billion cubic meters of gas during the same period, which exceeds the plans by 2.1 percent.
“Sixty-seven inactive wells were brought back to operation in January-July, making it possible to produce additional 25,300 tons of oil, which exceeds forecasts by almost 2.5 times,” said Azneft.
SOCAR’s production unit also carried out 370 geological operations, which allowed additionally producing 95,400 tons of oil. The technical work carried out by Azneft resulted in the additional production of 31,100 tons of oil.
Azneft also said it expanded the drilling works. Thirty-two wells were drilled and commissioned in January-July 2016 in accordance with an order from Azneft.
Some 43,800 tons of oil was extracted from those wells.
