SOCAR Trading SA, the marketing arm of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR, sold 15 million tons of oil products in international markets in 2015, said the company in a message Aug. 17.
The company said 61 percent of the sold oil products accounted for light distillates (benzene, naphtha, kerosene, liquefied natural gas), 25 percent for heavy distillates (black oil) and 14 percent for middle distillates (gas oil, diesel fuel with low sulfur content).
SOCAR Trading continues to expand its activities with new traders, said the message.
Net profit of SOCAR Trading was $91.4 million in 2015. Total volume of the sold products decreased by 47.7 million tons in 2015 compared to 48.6 million tons in 2014. Meanwhile, 23.4 million tons accounted for Azerbaijani oil, 10.2 million tons for oil of third parties and 15 million tons for oil products.
