Energy Ministry: New power supply facilities commissioned in Azerbaijan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Sept. 5

Bu Fidan Babayeva – Trend:

The Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency (AERA) issued acts of commissioning of 11 new or reconstructed power supply facilities in August 2020, Trend reports with reference to Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Energy.

The ministry said that acts were also issued for the installation of external power supply facilities simultaneously with a change in the power supply scheme, as well as for the provision of electricity.

The AERA reviewed and approved the design documentation for electrical installations of 20 construction projects, and also refused to implement the design documentation for electrical installations of four construction projects due to identified shortcomings, the ministry said.

“Following the agreed project submitted by 34 natural gas consumers, the operation of the completed industrial gas facilities is permitted. Design documentation for gas supply to 261 construction sites was reviewed and approved. Due to the identified shortcomings, the approval of the project documentation for gasification of 8 construction sites was refused,” said the ministry.

During the reporting month, one case of illegal connection to the gas distribution network without technical documentation was revealed in violation of the requirements of the ‘Rules for the use of gas’.

Within the month, the branches of the AERA drew up a protocol on a total of 18 administrative offenses under the relevant articles of the Code of Administrative Offenses.

With the participation of representatives of Azerenerji OJSC and Azerishig OJSC, an inspection of the technical condition of two electricity meters was carried out.
