Uzbekistan increased electricity generation from January through November 2020 by 3.53 percent compared to the same period in 2019, Trend reports referring to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
According to the committee, the country's enterprises generated about 57.49 billion kWh of electricity for the reporting period.
Furthermore, Uzbekistan produced about 23.84 million Gcal of heat from January through November 2020, which is 3.48 percent more compared to the same period in 2019.
Earlier it was reported that Uzbekistan increased electricity generation from January through September 2020 by 4.05 percent compared to the same period in 2019 due to increased electricity consumption during a cold snap.
The volume of electricity generated by the country's enterprises for 9M2020 amounted to more than 51.65 billion kWh of electricity.
In addition, it was reported that the reason for the power outages that recently occurred in Uzbekistan was connected with increased electricity consumption during a cold snap.
