Due to cold weather the volume of the power consumption grew in Baku, Sumgayit and the north-eastern regions of Azerbaijan, served by Barmek Azerbaycan (operator of the power distribution network in Baku and Sumgayit), president of Barmek Azerbaycan Huseyn Arabul told Trend.

According to him, the volume of the daily consumption in Baku only makes 1500 РњWt. В"The figure is expected to grow even more. Our power system is ready to resist such volume of the load, however, one should not deny the non-availability of problems. At the result of the power equipment overloading, in particular, of transformers, cases of power failure occur. These facts are mostly recorded in suburbs of Baku”, president of Barmek Azerbaycan said.

He noted, the lowest level of overloading is currently observed in Khachmaz. В"Here we have no problems, as we install a new power system in this area. It has been also defined, that the population in the north-eastern regions consumes the power more thrifty, than in large cities”, Arabul said.

The company’s president notes, one of the factors for power consumption increase is non-availability of the gas in many residential settlements. В"Otherwise, we would not have problems in power supply”, he stressed.
