BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 23

By Jeila Aliyeva - Trend:

Automation of trade enterprises has been completed in the capital of Turkmenistan – Ashgabat, Trend reports with reference to “ Turkmenistan: Zolotoy Vek” (Turkmenistan: Golden Age) newspaper.

Some 145 state-owned stores in the capital are equipped with modern digital equipment.

The use of modern equipment will make it possible to transfer all stores in the city to the automated trade reporting system from the first of January.

The automation was completed by the manufacturer of computer and electronic equipment of Turkmenistan Agzybirlik Tilsimaty and specialists of the computer technology center of the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan.

As reported, Turkmenistan is working on the introduction of information and communication technologies (ICT) in all sectors of the national economy.

The acceleration of work in this direction will be facilitated by the creation of a geo-information center, which will analyze and store information about all objects of Turkmenistan's urban infrastructure.

The country also pays special attention to training specialists in the field of ICT. The introduction of ICT into Turkmenistan's economy will facilitate its diversification.

The concept of the development of the digital economy in Turkmenistan until 2025 is also aimed at economic diversification.

The ongoing reforms allow increasing mutually beneficial cooperation with foreign partners and international organizations. During the first six months of 2020, Turkmenistan has participated in a number of meetings held online by international organizations.

The country is also implementing digitalization in different sectors of the economy and, in particular, in the financial, agro-industrial, and other areas.

Turkmenistan is using foreign equipment in its agricultural sector, and in particular, the equipment provided by US companies such as John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co.KG and Claas.

In August last year, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental protection of Turkmenistan and John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co.KG signed a memorandum of understanding for the development of digitalization in the country's agro-industrial sector.

According to the document, in the next few years, special equipment of the John Deere and Claas brands in Turkmenistan will be provided with telematics.
