From January to March 2006 the Communications and Information Technologies Ministry invested 4,046,800 AZN in the telecommunications. The funds were mainly aimed at the reconstruction of communications objects, construction of new telephone lines both in the suburbs of the capital and the regions of the country, the Ministry toldTrend.
Over this period Aztelekom Production Association (PA)put 891,200 AZN, Baku Telephone Communication PA - 2,913,400 AZN, Teleradio PA - 67,000 AZN.
In 2005 the Ministry invested 157, 571bn manats in the telecommunications or 66bn manats more as compared 2004.
From 10 April 2006 the official rate of USD in regard to manat comprises 4,541 manats (0,9082 AZN).
