Azerbaijan sees growth in value of sea cargo shipment for 7M2021

The value of sea cargo transportation carried out by Azerbaijan from January through July 2021 rose, Trend reports citing a report from the State Customs Committee (SCC).

According to the committee, this showing amounted to $341.6 million, up 17.7 percent on annual basis.

In the first seven months of this year, almost 382,500 tons of cargo have been transported by sea, which is 29.6 percent less compared to the same period of 2020, the committee said.

The volume of export cargo transportation by sea decreased by 20.7 percent and amounted to 146,802 tons, and the value stood at $69.2 million (a growth of 20.4 percent), the SCC report said.

At the same time, the volume of imports by sea amounted to 235,690 tons, and the value - over $382.4 million (an increase of 48 percent), added the committee.

As earlier reported, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover from January to July 2021 made up nearly $17.7 billion. Of these, exports accounted for $11.39 billion, and imports - $6.3 billion.
