Kazakhstan discusses launch of JCB branded road-building vehicles production

A project to open an assembly plant for the production of specialized road-building vehicles of the JCB brand was discussed in Kazakhstan, Trend reports citing the country’s Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development.

The ministry’s chief Beibut Atamkulov met with the heads of foreign and domestic companies implementing projects for the assembly of specialized equipment and the production of household appliances in Kazakhstan.

During the meeting of Atamkulov with the JCB Regional Director for Russia and CIS Nick Grills and Orbis Kazakhstan company, the parties discussed the project to open an assembly plant for the production of specialized road-building equipment of the JCB brand.

Grills emphasized the high level of support for domestic producers from the Government of Kazakhstan and expressed the intentions of JCB on a long-term presence in the local market.

Orbis Kazakhstan announced plans to build a plant for the production of household kitchen stoves in the Turkestan region, together with the Uzbek Artel Electronics company. The production capacity of the plant will be 1 million units of household appliances per year. This project will increase the export potential of Kazakhstan and provide the market with high-quality and affordable domestic appliances.

The minister expressed his readiness to support the implementation of these initiatives within the framework of state policy for the development of domestic industries and announced the need for Kazakhstan to enter the global supply chain as a major center for the assembly of vehicles and various equipment.
