ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 11. Kazakhstan proposes the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) to develop the bank's country partnership strategy (CPS) for Kazakhstan, Minister of Economy and Manager of AIIB in Kazakhstan Alibek Kuantyrov said at a meeting with Vice President of the bank, Ludger Schuknecht, Trend reports.
The minister noted that this document would serve as some sort of a roadmap for the AIIB's activities in Kazakhstan.
Furthermore, at the meeting, the sides also discussed prospects for cooperation in the field of energy, green economy, transport and infrastructure, as well as agriculture.
Kuantyrov spoke about Kazakhstan's Strategy to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060, adopted on February 2, 2023. The document touches on key sectors of the economy and defines the main elements necessary to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, as well as measures to improve energy efficiency and the development of renewable energy sources.
In turn, the AIIB vice president positively assessed the prospects of Kazakhstan in the development of infrastructure projects, the financial market, and renewable energy, and expressed the bank's readiness for cooperation.
