(gazeta.kz) - Kazakhstan and Jordan have signed a number of economic co-operation agreements. It has been stated in a joint statement after a meeting between Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kazakhstan, and Abdullah II bin al-Hussein, King of Jordan.
In particular Kazakhstan and Jordan have signed an agreement on commercial and economic co-operation between the two governments and an agreement on promotion and mutual protection of investments, reports Trend.
"The sides have shown great interest in co-operation and experience exchange in such areas as energy, agriculture, IT, processing industry, construction, medium and small business," - the statement circulated Wednesday by the MFA press service said.
Stressing a significant role of the private sector in the development of commercial and economic relations between Kazakhstan and Jordan, the sides agreed to establish a business council with participation of Kazakhstani and Jordanian businessmen. "In order to develop the on commercial and economic co-operation the leaders of both states called representatives of the private sector of both countries to use favourable conditions based on a high level of the bilateral political relationship and a corresponding legal base," - the document says.
"The sides will take efforts to open permanent expositions in the capitals of both countries," - the statement says.
