Parliament deputy speaker: Kyrgyz legislation, regulating trade unions’ activity, requires amendments

"Kyrgyz legislation, regulating trade unions' activity, requires amendments," Deputy Speaker of Parliament Bodosh Mamyrova said at today's extended session of Trade Unions Federation Council, news agency "24.kg" reported.

According to her, trade unions used to be great power, able to solve different problem. "Nowadays, we shall confess that trade unions lost their energy. Yes, we understand that their basis was looted during so many years. But still not everything is lost. That is why we shall amend Trade Union Law, Labor Code of the Kyrgyz Republic to provide successful operation of trade unions," added Bodosh Mamyrova.

She paid attention of trade unions' members at the problems of labor migrants. "Currently, they do not contribute to the budget. They shall be explained that they will simply be left without pension. For this purpose, Trade Unions Federation together with Ministry of Labor, Employment and Migration, and Social Fund shall work out the labor migrants' rights protection draft law and present it to Parliament," said Bodosh Mamyrova.
