BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 24. Kyrgyzstan recorded a significant increase in revenues of its financial sector's organizations from January through June 2022, Trend reports with reference to the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.
The total revenues of organizations in the financial sector of Kyrgyz economy in the first half of this year amounted to 46.1 billion soms ($574.3 million), which is an increase of 51.6 percent compared to the same period of 2021 (30.4 billion soms, or $379.6 million).
"Loan portfolio of banks and non-banking financial and credit organizations as of July 1, 2022 amounted to more than 217 billion soms ($2.7 billion)," the Committee reported.
The main areas of lending were trade (25.6 percent of the total), agriculture (20 percent), needs of consumers (17 percent), mortgages (10 percent) and construction (7 percent).
Meanwhile, during the reporting period 594 organizations operated in the financial sector of Kyrgyz economy, including the National Bank, 23 commercial banks, 556 non-banking financial and credit organizations and 14 insurance companies.
