Meetings on development of economic cooperation between the two countries will be held as part of Turkmenistan's economy day at the intergovernmental level in Paris (France) on July 11, 2014, a source close to the negotiations told Trend on April 22.
The Turkmen Chamber of Commerce will organize the event, according to the source.
French companies in Turkmenistan are represented in such areas as construction, transport, tourism and energy.
The two countries are also interested in implementing a project on Turkmen gas transportation to Europe. Especially, the variants of laying the gas pipeline across the Caspian Sea and Azerbaijan, as well as its joining the transnational projects in the European direction.
French Total may be involved in the development of hydrocarbon resources of the Turkmen part of the Caspian Sea and exploration of gas transportation to Europe in the near future. Gas de France stressed its interest in cooperation in this area.
French company Schneider Electric and the Turkmen government signed an agreement on Ashgabat's energy supply as part of the consortium with the Belgian Enex.
Thales Alenia Space is implementing a project constructing the Turkmen first national satellite, scheduled for launch in 2014.
Bouygues and VINCI Construction are implementing large construction projects in the Turkmen market.
