IRI Ambassador and Permanent Representative to IAEA Ali-Asghar Soltaniyeh said in Vienna Friday, Agency once again and for 26th time approved of Iranian nuclear program's peaceful nature, IRNA reported.
Soltaniyeh focusing on IAEA Chief Amano's latest report on Iran added in an exclusive interview with IRNA at the International Atomic Energy Organization (IAEA) in Vienna asserted, "The particular feature of this report is that for the first time it is divided into two separate sections. The first section is allocated to Iran's commitments regarding the nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty (the NPT)."
The IRI Ambassador added, "The second section is regarding the Agency's demands regarding the UN Security Council resolutions, in whose case we have proved that in accordance with the international laws they are legally invalid, and therefore non-applicable."
Soltaniyeh said, "The important point is that the comprehensive report on the country's entire nuclear activities shows that there has been no deviation towards un-allowed activities in our country."
The Iranian envoy to the IAEA added, "In this report, too, its is clearly announced that Iran's former remarks about the existence of no reproduction activity had been authentic and no such activity has been in process, and therefore the UNSC demand for suspension of such activities that have never been taking place have been illogical."
Soltaniyeh said, "The fact that Amano has finally yielded to the logical demand of Iran and over 100 Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) countries and divided these two sections into two separate parts is a step forward towards the presentation of more logical reports."
He added, "That is because this report shows to the world nations that Iran, as a responsible member of the international community, has been living up to its commitments in accordance with the NPT, and has done all it could do in its cooperation with the Agency."
Soltaniyeh concluded his remarks arguing, "The IAEA chief is expected to take more serious steps towards appropriate reflecting of the Iranian peaceful nuclear activities and not to insist any longer over the illogical demands of the (UN) Security Council."
