President Ahmadinejad leaves for Algeria

( Irna ) - President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad left here for Algeria Monday morning on a two-day official visit at the head of high-ranking political and economic delegation.

The visit is taking place at the official invitation of his Algerian counterpart Abdelaziz Bouteflika.

The president and his entourage were officially seen off by senior Iranian officials including a group of cabinet ministers and Iran's Ambassador to Algeria Hossein Abdi Abyaneh.

He is accompanied by Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad-Hossein Saffar Harandi and his senior advisor, Mojtaba Samareh Hashemi.

While in Algeria, the president will hold talks with President Bouteflika as well as other senior officials including its parliament speaker.

The talks will focus on promotion of bilateral ties and major regional and international developments.
