Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili has presented candidates for positions of nine ambassadors to the parliament.
As Georgian Foreign Ministry reported , Natalia Sabanadze was presented to the post of ambassador to Belgium and permanent representative to EU, Zaza Kandelaki for ambassador to Hungary, Teimuraz Dzhandzhaliya to Lithuania, Konstantin Zeldastanishvili to Austria and international organizations in Vienna, Archil Gegeshidze to U.S., Zaal Gogsadze to the Czech Republic, Mikhail Ukleba to Ukraine and Karlo Sikharulidze to Italy.
Earlier, Saakashvili granted Georgian Foreign Minister Maya Panjikidze's request on dismissal of ambassadors in 17 countries and three international organizations.
In Panjikidze's letter it was emphasized that if the request is granted, new candidates for the posts of heads of Georgia's diplomatic missions abroad will be presented immediately.
According to unofficial information, the chairman of the Parliament Committee for Foreign Affairs Tedo Japaridze will be presented for Georgia's ambassador to Great Britain, the former press secretary of President Eduard Shevardnadze Kakha Imnadze to UN and the former head of Georgian Supreme Court Lado Chanturia to Germany.
Eka Siradze-Delone is also included in the list of candidates for ambassadors as a representative of Georgia in France, David Aptsiauri - as ambassador to China.
