Details of the possible resignation of the Chairman of Georgia's Central Election Commission (CEC) Zurab Kharatishvili, will be announced today at 15:00 local time at a briefing.
According to unofficial information, Kharatishvili wrote a letter of resignation and presented it to the Georgian Parliament.
The Georgian CEC has not yet confirmed or denied this information.
Before the emergence of this information, a number of NGOs accused Kharatishvili of illegally denying the registration of persons with two citizenships as presidential candidates.
Among them is the former Georgian Minister of Foreign Affairs Salome Zourabichvili.
