Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived in Beijing on Wednesday for talks with Chinese leaders that were expected to focus on trade, investment and the Middle East peace process, dpa reported.
Netanyahu was scheduled to meet President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang, and deliver a speech at a college run by the ruling Communist Party.
The two nations planned to sign several cooperation agreements in Beijing, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said.
Netanyahu arrived from Shanghai, where he began a five-day visit to China on Monday.
During meetings with Israeli and Chinese business representatives in Shanghai, he said the two sides could benefit from the use of more Israeli advanced technology in China.
"The future belongs to those who lead in innovation and technology," he said. "If we create a partnership between Israel's inventive capability and China's manufacturing capability, we will have a winning combination."
Netanyahu targeted an expansion of bilateral trade from 8 billion dollars to 10 billion dollars within three years, his office said earlier.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas left Beijing on Tuesday after talks with Xi and Li on Monday.
