Spanish Liga club Athletic Bilbao announced on Thursday evening that star striker Fernando Llorente would be out of action for at least a week, dpa reported.

Llorente, 23, pulled a muscle in his right thigh after coming off the Spain bench during Wednesday's 2-0 friendly defeat of England in Seville, in his second international appearance.

The promising Bilbao striker scored his first goal for Spain against England, heading in a perfect Xavi free-kick nine minutes from time.

Llorente then limped off with his muscle injury. He will miss Sunday's home game against Recreativo Huelva, but should be fit in time for the King's Cup semi-final return leg at home to Sevilla on March 4.

Bilbao lost the first leg in Seville 2-1, and will be looking towards Llorente for the goals that could take them to their first final appearance since 1985.
