Turkish Parliament Speaker Mehmet Ali Sahin met with Iraqi Parliament Speaker Osama Nuceyfi in Ankara on Thursday, Anadolu News Agency reported. Sahin said that the Turkish parliament was ready to extend support to the Iraqi parliament.

Turkey attached a great interest in security, tranquility and prosperity of Iraqi people, he said. "Turkey always assumed a certain and sincere policy towards Iraq," he said.

Sahin said that Turkish-Iraqi Interparliamentary Friendship Group consisted of nearly 400 members and the friendship group contributed to developments of ties between the two countries.

"I know that there were many problems waiting for solutions in Iraq. I believe that these problems will be solved with a mutual understanding," Sahin said.

Iraqi Parliament Speaker Nuceyfi said that Iraqi people had full confidence in Turkish-Iraqi friendship and Turkey assumed a balanced, sincere and clear policy towards Iraq. Turkey always highlighted that it attached a great importance to territorial integrity of Iraq, Nuceyfi said.

The two parliaments should boost cooperation, he said.

Replying to a question on developments in Egypt, Nuceyfi said that no one should interfere in internal affairs of Egypt and it should solve problems on its own.
