Azerbaijan attaches great importance to int’l cooperation in combating cyber-crime

Azerbaijan attaches great importance to the cooperation with international organizations in combating cyber-crime, head of the Department of Information Society under the Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry Aliyev Isbyandiyar told Trend today.

He said that the fight against crime in the virtual sphere must be conducted with all world countries together.

Azerbaijan joined the convention on cyber-crime. This is an opportunity to create an international protection mechanism. The work in this direction is conducted with the country's security forces, in particular with the National Security Ministry. The result is to amend the Criminal Code of the Republic.
The head of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime Yury Fedotov stressed the intention to conduct a global study on cyber-crime at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Commenting on his statement, the head of the department of information society under the Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry said that the fight against cyber-crime is a new direction. There is a need to coordinate this process.

Azerbaijan uses all international mechanisms in this sphere, by learning experience and proposals of the countries to ensure effective cooperation while creating any bodies.
