The SOCAR company has completed geological exploration work on the Zardab, Shikhbagy and Gishlag oil and gas onshore fields located on the territory of Yevlakh-Agjabadi deflection in Azerbaijan, said the message of SOCAR Oct.22.

In order to clarify the geological structure of the field, define the area of ​​distribution of hydrocarbons and study the hydrocarbon potential of the area, the 3-D seismic research was carried out on an area of ​​178 square kilometers, according to the report.

"In addition, gravimetric and magnetometric work was conducted on an area of ​​345 square kilometers," the report said. "At present, the obtained materials are at the stage of processing and interpretation. The new data will create conditions for exploration drilling in the right direction."

Azneft production association of SOCAR is the customer of the project.

SOCAR is the sole producer of oil products in Azerbaijan. It has two oil refineries and filling stations in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine, Romania and Switzerland. The company is the co-owner of the largest Turkish petrochemical complex, Petkim, and other assets in Turkey.

SOCAR includes Azneft (the enterprises producing oil and gas onshore and offshore), Azerkimya (the chemical industry enterprises) and Azerigaz production associations.

The company also has a number of processing enterprises, service enterprises, and institutions involved in geophysical and drilling operations.
