BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 2. Azerbaijan has shown leadership and vision, establishing itself as a critical pillar of energy security in the region and beyond, said Wyatt Toehlke, Senior Advisor for European and Eurasian Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, Trend reports.
He pointed out that the United States and Azerbaijan have enjoyed a strong partnership in the energy sector going back decades.
"Just last year, we celebrated the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Contract of the Century, which became the foundation of our lasting bilateral energy relationship. And from the Contract of the Century to the Southern Gas Corridor, Azerbaijan has shown leadership and vision, establishing itself as a critical pillar of energy security in the region and beyond. We look forward to our continued partnership with Azerbaijan to advance our shared interests in unleashing energy abundance and ensuring our future energy security," he said.
