Democratic Movement-Unified Georgia party leader Nino Burjanadze believes that a snap presidential election is the only way out of the current situation in Georgia. She made the statement at a meeting with OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Special Representative for Georgia Goran Lennmarker.

"Social and political forces should be fully consolidated to achieve this goal. This is the only condition for resuming negotiations on all diplomatic fronts," Burjanadze said.

Burjanadze said under the current circumstances there is little chance to prolong OSCE mission's mandate in Georgia.

"Our task is to convince everyone that the current president and authorities have no resources to negotiate. That is why we are negotiating with international organizations," she said.

Burjanadze said she was not waiting for a direct response from international organizations, as "that would be an interference in Georgia's internal affairs."

"But these people should be aware of our arguments as to why we demand a snap presidential - and not parliamentary - election. I think our arguments are understandable for everyone," she said.
