Former vice-president Tariq al-Hashimi won't be handed over to the Iraqi government, the head of Kurdish administration in South Iraq Masud Bərzani said, Al Jazeera reported.
"Tariq al-Hashimi won't be handed over to the government of Iraq. In addition, it is also impossible to try Hashimi outside of Iraq," Bərzanı said.
He said it is not ethical to deliver a person who receives asylum in the Kurdish administration, back to the opposite site.
An order for the arrest of former Vice-President Tariq al-Hashimi was issued in December 2011. He was suspected of 'terrorist activity'.
